This is sure to be an exciting week for the marching band!  We’d like to thank all of the parent and student volunteers that helped with doors this, and past weekends.  Everything is starting to come together!

This Week in WHS Marching Band 9/18 – 9/24

Tuesday, 9/20 – Sectionals @WHS:  Winds (2:45-5:45), Colorguard & Percussion (6:00-9:00)

Wednesday, 9/21 – Full Band @WHS: (6:00-9:00)

Thursday, 9/22 – Fallfest Parade:  (You will need: uniform, shako, gloves, black socks, shoes-polished, undergarments, instrument/equipment, flip folder and lyre with: Paranoid, Get Down Tonight, On Westminster, Part 4 of the Show band jacket for guard.)·

• Arrive @WHS (5:00)·
• Depart from WHS in full uniform (6:00)·
• Parade begins from West MS (7:00)·
• Parade ends @ East MS (approx. 8:00)·
• Return/Pick-up from WHS (approx. 9:00)

Saturday, 9/24 – USSBA Marine Corps Invitational:  (You will need: uniform, shako, gloves, black socks, shoes-polished, undergarments,  instrument/equipment, band jacket and blue jeans to wear after the performance, and MONEY for concessions after the performance)

TICKETS AVAILABLE WITH THE BOOSTERS- $12 (discounted from $14!) per person.

2.Take the 3rd right onto Hook Rd (0.3 mi)

3.Take the 2nd left onto MD-97 N/New Washington Rd Continue to follow MD-97 N (1.7 mi )

4.Slight right toward MD-140 E/Baltimore Blvd (0.1 mi )

5.Continue straight onto MD-140 E/Baltimore Blvd Continue to follow MD-140 E (9.5 mi)

6.Continue onto I-795 S (signs for Owings Mills/Baltimore)  (9.2 mi)

7.Take exit 1B to merge onto I-695 S toward Glen Burnie (14.0 mi )

8.Slight left onto I-97 S (signs for Annapolis/Bay Bridge) (17.5 mi)

9.Keep left at the fork, follow signs for US-50 E/US-301 N/Annapolis/Bay Bridge and merge onto US-301 N/US-50 E (3.4 mi)

10.Take exit 24 to merge onto MD-70 S/Rowe Blvd toward Annapolis S (0.9 mi)

Location: Band Room/Electronic Music Room

Purpose: Students will have the chance to get homework done in an adult-supervised (Mrs. Jones) environment where they can also work in groups or by themselves, and with friends. Mrs. Jones and peers will help each other with homework, practicing, etc. If there is an area you really need help in and it cannot be provided from within the group, we will get tutors from around the school!

*Students who need volunteer hours may get them from tutoring these events! So band/guard members needing hours…here is a good outlet to not only be with friends, but help them and yourself!

**Food and beverages are allowed, as long as everything is picked up at the end of the night!

**People who attend at least one session a week (per month) will invited to a movie “showcase” where popcorn will be provided by Mrs. Jones. Students attending will get to vote on the school appropriate movie.
